Happy November, Hipcooks!

Gooble Gooble. Holiday classes are posted! Hipcooks EastLA, WestLA,  Portland, Seattle and  San Diego. And...San Fransisco. (yowsza!)

Here's what we're clucking on about this month.  Read on, there are gifts for you toward the end of this email!

    *  "I Ain't No Turkey!", of course! If you are hosting Thanksgiving, or if you want to bring something creative and delish to where you are going, or if you just love Thanksgiving food, plain and simple,  this gorgeous menu will inspire many thanks. All Studios.

    * "Cocktails 2: Holidaze", is back! The drinks list: Rosemary Pomegranate Gin Fizz, Winter Dark & Stormy, Spicy Mulled Wine, Hot Apple Pie, Frosty Martini.  The food list: Port glazed walnuts, Gorgonzola stuffed baby apples, Crispy proscuitto-wrapped persimmons with sage & manchego, Mushroom chevre empanadas, Caviar cups with crème fraîche & chive, Seared beef on parmesan crisps, watercress & horseradish, Lemon sugar cookies.  'Nuff said?

Hipcooks San Fransisco. We really missed our Hipcooks LA teacher Kevin when he relocated to the Bay Area. Turns out, he really missed us, too! So we got to thinking.....why not bring Hipcooks to him? We're testing the waters in Hipcooks San Fransisco by offering 2 classes this December with Kevin in the Dacor Kitchens. $30 Hipcooks classes, it's true! Please send the SF class schedule link to anyone you know needing some Hipcooking in SF - we'd love to build a wonderful community of students. Email me back should you or anyone you know wish to join the SF email list.

Private Classes as Holiday Parties: Private classes are a wonderful way to celebrate and thank co-workers, friends and family - we'll take care of everything, you have a great party with no shopping, cleaning or wrapping.  And great food, ha! Little Gift 2. Hipcooks LA only!  Sign up for any class in West LA in November, and receive a Knife Skills Class (Sched on Dec 5th, 6:30pm, WestLA) on us. Yep - nada, zip zero will be your cost for this fab class.  Rules: you must email the studio after signing up to request your spot in the class, and while supplies last!
Recipe of the month
Cranberry sauce with fresh ginger and orange
3/4 lb fresh cranberries
1 cup orange juice
3/4 cup  brown sugar
2 teaspoons (about 1 inch) grated fresh ginger - use your microplane!
2 teaspoons orange zest

In a saucepan, combine all ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cranberries will make a delightful popping sound as they open up and mixture will thicken.
And you crafty Hipcooks are already thinking of ways to Holidaze other Hip dishes right?  How about adding a little pumpkin puree to your flan from Una Noche en Espana - A Tapas Class, or fall spices like nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and allspice to the walnut cake from Healthy, Fresh & Zingy 2?  Oh so tasty and as lovely as you!  Cheers!
